The priority of conducting applied research in order to sustain and promote the ornamental fish industry in Mahallat County

Text: According to the public relations of the Iranian Fisheries Science and Research Institute, the head of the Jahad Agriculture Organization of Markazi Province met with Dr. Mohammad Pourkazemi, said: Fortunately, theMahallat County has high potential for the production and culture of ornamental fish that could be a source of employment for the region.
Mr. Anjafi added: Khandab and Milajerd villages are among the sectors that have a very good capacity in this field because they have approval of water supply and they have the appropriate land. Moreover, Investors have announced their readiness for this purpose.
Referring to the authorities' concern about the water crisis, he said: since water consumption in ornamental fish settlements is much lower than in greenhouses, therefore, the investment for the production of ornamental fish is the priority of the County.
Mr. Anjafi added: In this regard, the studies and guidance of the Iranian Fisheries Science and Research Institute are very important. Human resources training, health management and disease control and producing knowledge base products are some of the most important issues that the institute can help the Jahad Agriculture Organization of Mahallat city.
Dr. Mohammad Pourkazemi said at the meeting: since the success of country is related to the empowerment of knowledge-based companies and the private sector, follow up and plan for this purpose will result in the establishment of the first ornamental fish research company in theMahallat County and skilled people will be employed.
He emphasized: Production of knowledge base and effective products are very important for the institution. Therefore, researchers of the Iranian Fisheries Science and Research Institute will be with the Jahad Agriculture Organization at all stages of the work. In the end, Mr. Anjafi invited the director and deputies of the institute to visit fish farms in the Markazi province.
