Text: The seventh meeting on compilation of the executive regulations on the access and exploitation of genetic reserves was held in the auditorium of the Iranian Fisheries Science and Research Institute with the presence of the representatives from the Seed and Plant Improvement Institute, the Animal Science Research Institute of Iran, the Research Institute of Forests and Rangelands, the Soil and Water Research Institute, the Iranian Research Institute of Plant Protection and the Seed and Plant Certification and Registration Institute and the director general of research affairs of the Agricultural Research Education and Extension Organization. At the meeting, the draft regulations were discussed. It should be noted that the regulations on the conservation and exploitation of genetic reserves of the country was communicated to the government on October 11, 2018. The executive regulations on the conditions of access and exploitation of genetic reserves should be prepared within three months by the Ministry of Agriculture Jihad, the Ministry of Health and Medical Education and the Department of Environment in cooperation with the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology and the Academic Center for Education, Culture and Research. The executive regulations should be approved by the Cabinet of Ministers.
